Serving the infrastructure needs of Hartvale residents since 1957.
Our history
The City of Hartvale Public Works Department was established in 1957 as the city grew from a small desert community into a thriving municipality. What began as a three-person road crew has expanded into a full-service department with divisions covering streets, water and sewer, stormwater, solid waste, traffic systems, and parks maintenance.
Over the decades, Public Works has overseen major infrastructure milestones: the expansion of the water distribution network in the 1970s, the construction of the Mesquite Flats stormwater channel in 1994, and the ongoing street resurfacing program launched in 2015 that has rehabilitated more than 180 lane miles of city roads.
What guides us
Every task we undertake is evaluated with public safety as the primary consideration — for crews and residents alike.
We track every work order from submission to completion and publish infrastructure project status so residents stay informed.
Our crews are trained and certified in their fields, from water system operation to traffic signal maintenance.
67 years of responsible maintenance and capital investment in the infrastructure that makes Hartvale livable.
