Our story
Good Dog Academy opened over ten years ago when our founder, a lifelong dog owner and CPDT-KA certified trainer, saw too many families giving up on dogs they loved because they didn't have the tools to help them. The answer was never a stricter collar - it was a better approach.
Today our small team of certified trainers has helped more than 1,200 dogs and their families find a rhythm that works. From rowdy rescue mutts to polished show prospects, every dog that comes through our door gets a plan built around who they are.
What we stand for
Every method we use is selected because it is safe, effective and kind. We never use choke chains, shock collars or punishment-based techniques.
We train with treats, praise and play because science shows reward-based methods build faster, stronger habits - and happier dogs.
Our trainers hold CPDT-KA certification and serve as AKC CGC evaluators. Continuing education keeps our methods current and evidence-based.
We measure success by what happens at home, not just in class. Clear homework, progress notes and follow-up support keep training on track.
