Home / About Sunridge

A city built on community.

Over a century of growth, service, and Arizona pride.

Our story

From a desert crossroads to a thriving Arizona city

Sunridge was incorporated in 1912 by a small community of ranchers, miners, and merchants who saw the potential in this high-desert valley. A century later, we have grown into a city of 47,200 residents — but our founding belief has never changed: good government serves the people who live here, not the other way around.

From building out water infrastructure in the 1940s to opening our first community recreation center in 1978, and launching online city services in 2018, every decade has brought new investment in the quality of life our residents deserve.
